It illustrates how Inductive Reasoning is applied in order to make a case for a political position - a method used extensively by Glenn Beck and others - and how Induction can never prove the theory it claims is true. In knowing this, it's important to make the person commit to justifying his position which will always result in infinite regress vs. his own dogmatic stance coming from his religious or political faith. Once he heads down this path, he walks into a death spiral of justifying each preceding justification for his position. His only recourse is to try to escape through circular reasoning which is itself a logical fallacy. In short, there is no rational justification for his position.
Political Logic points to a negative methodology as opposed to a positive one when we look for truth. Rather than an assertive position, it takes the position of criticism as the rational approach. If one is willing to hold his own position up to criticism, then one is never in a defensive position of having to irrationally justify himself in order to defend a theory of rationality. It means recognizing our own fallibility and understanding that we could be wrong. The conservative won't be able to do that.
This is a guide to what not to do, rather than what to assertively do. Observing the irrational behavior of the conservative will show you what not to do.
